<horizpar>Accuracy of unrevised/pre-GPS files are based on the use of source graphics ie. 1:24000 DRGs. The target horizontal accuracy for the road layers was 1:24,000 (+/- 40 feet). Given the variety of sources for the data, it is recognized that the older centerlines do not always meet published national map accuracy standards. For data currently being collected and all GPS-based road centerline data, the KYTC Division of Planning uses the geospatial positional accuracy standards proposed by the Federal Geodetic Control Subcommittee (FGCS 1994). Road centerline collection methods are based on pseudorange measurements (FGCS Classification Band IX). These differential GPS (DGPS) methods, either in post processed or real-time modes, provide a resulting horizontal accuracy of less than 4 meter radius of the relative positional error circle with a 95% confidence. The target accuracy for new collection is sub-meter (&lt; 1.0 meter), but it is recognized that some field conditions prevent attaining this. All county level coverages will have a published accuracy statement containing a relative positional error radius and a confidence level.</horizpar>

Detailed Description: Designations other than”000” (Cardinal Direction) indicate a non-standard configuration of the roadway. For example non-cardinal divided highways, cross-overs, connectors, rest areas, weigh stations, etc. The valid entry ranges are as follows: '000' – Mainline. If a road is not divided by direction (ie: no non-cardinal link) then the mainline will represent all directions of a road.
'001' to '009' – Non-Cardinal Couplet. Examples would be US 60 in Shelbyville where it splits into two separate one-way roads and US 25 in Lexington that splits into Main Street and Vine Streets.
'010' – Non-Cardinal Side of Divided Highway.
'011' to '019' - Collector-Distributor Roads.
'020' to '029' – Y intersection: Used for roads that fork into two or more roadways just before an intersection to facilitate easier turning or merging onto a road.
'030' to '069' – Crossovers or short roads that connect both sides of a divided highway.
'070' to '079' – Connectors
'080' to '097' – Bays, Cul-de-sacs, spurs, frontage roads, etc.
'098' - Roadway belonging to an Adjacent State.
'*01' to '*10' - Rest areas, weigh stations, scenic views in conjunction with interstates and parkways. (Where * is between 1 and 9)
